Residents of the Bywater neighborhood in New Orleans were affected by multiple fires early yesterday morning, which the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) has classified as arson.
According to the New Orleans Fire Department's Facebook post, eight vehicles and a two-story duplex were set on fire. The duplex fire was labeled Aggravated Arson. All four residents of the duplex escaped safely, and no injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters. Nearby homes and vehicles sustained minor to moderate heat damage.
The incidents are under investigation, and no information about suspects or motives has been released. The New Orleans Fire Department continues to monitor the situation and provide updates as the investigation progresses.
