Firefighters from the New Orleans Fire Department responded to a two-story house fire at 2251 Baronne Street yesterday evening. The call came in at 6:27 p.m., and units arrived by 6:31 p.m. A second alarm was issued at 7:05 p.m. to help contain the fire, which was under control by 7:54 p.m., according to the City of New Orleans.
Two occupants had evacuated before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported among them or the 54 responding NOFD personnel. A total of 23 units were involved in the response. The fire caused damage that displaced the two residents, and the cause remains under investigation.
