
The New Orleans Fire Department responded to two major fires on New Year’s Day: a three-alarm blaze in Algiers and a two-alarm fire in Uptown. Crews quickly contained both to limit damage and protect residents.
According to the New Orleans Fire Department's Post, 18 residents were displaced by the Algiers fire. Multiple units responded and successfully contained the blaze.
The NOFD shared photos of the Algiers fire, showing its severity. No casualties were reported, and the cause of the fires remains under investigation. The department successfully responded to both incidents, demonstrating readiness and effectiveness.
