
A shooting occurred on the 2300 block of Orleans Avenue on the evening of Friday last week, leaving one person dead and three others injured. Officers from the NOPD First District arrived on the scene shortly after 8:00 p.m, according to the New Orleans Police Department's Facebook page.
The victims included three adult females and one adult male. The male was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity and cause of death will be confirmed by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office after an autopsy and notification of next of kin. The three female victims were taken to a local hospital, with two in critical condition and one in stable condition.
The circumstances of the shooting are under investigation. The New Orleans Police Department is collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine what led to the incident.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact NOPD Homicide Section detectives or submit an anonymous tip through Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans.
