An incident in Knoxville this morning involved a collision between a Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) bus and a Knox County Schools shuttle van. The crash occurred at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Cherry Street, as per the Knoxville Police Department (KPD).
WVLT reported that multiple students were on board the school shuttle at the time of the collision. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to assess the situation and ensure the safety of everyone involved.
According to KPD’s online briefing, officers responded to the scene after the incident was reported at 7:56 a.m. The report noted that schoolchildren were involved, which raised concerns for their safety. However, a KPD social media post shared on Facebook assured the public that, despite multiple children being present in the shuttle van, no serious injuries were reported.
