City of Norman administrative offices will be closed on January 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, with normal operations resuming on January 20. Essential services, including solid waste collection and transportation, will continue on their regular schedules, according to the City of Norman.
Trash, recycling, the compost facility, and the transfer station will remain open during standard hours. City recreation centers will be closed except for the 12th Avenue Recreation Center, which will host an Out of School Camp, while Norman Animal Welfare will also be closed for the holiday, as reported by the City of Norman.
The City of Norman announced activities and services for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including an Interfaith Breakfast hosted with the Norman Human Rights Commission that requires pre-registration by January 15, and a Day of Service park cleanup organized by the Department of Parks and Recreation with volunteer sign-ups available online. EMBARK Norman and Norman On-Demand will operate on regular schedules, with route and schedule information available on their websites.
