Local authorities reported that a 33-year-old man died when his vehicle collided with a fence yesterday. KHON2 reported that the driver, who was accompanied by a 24-year-old passenger, had been speeding along Coral Sea Road before the crash near Roosevelt Avenue.
The collision occurred around 8:50 a.m., resulting in the driver being taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while the passenger, seriously injured, was also transported for treatment. The driver later died from his injuries. The passenger’s current condition has not been updated, though they were initially reported in serious condition. KITV stated that police believe excessive speed was a major factor, and the investigation is ongoing to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
Authorities have not released further details as the investigation into the crash continues.
