Oak Cliff is getting another spot for stacked subs, as franchisee Michael Greco prepares to roll out a new Jersey Mike’s in Wynnewood Village. The 2,120-square-foot shop is aiming for a mid-May debut and is pitched as a family-friendly neighborhood hangout rather than a quick drive-thru stop. Greco plans to kick things off with a charity-focused opening promotion, building on what he describes as strong community support at his first Oak Cliff location and on the broader retail revival around Wynnewood.
Franchisee Locks In Wynnewood Address And Spring Debut
The Wynnewood storefront is set for 655 West Illinois Avenue, Suite 1073, in Wynnewood Village, with a 2,120-square-foot footprint, according to What Now Dallas. Greco told the outlet he opened his first Oak Cliff Jersey Mike’s about a year and a half ago and that his team is eyeing a mid-May opening for the Wynnewood spot. He also outlined a five-day grand-opening promotion in which customers who donate to a local charity will receive a free sub. The specific nonprofit beneficiary will be announced closer to opening day.
Wynnewood Village Sits At A Retail Crossroads
The new Jersey Mike’s will land inside Wynnewood Village, a major shopping center at 655 West Illinois that Brixmor lists as undergoing roughly $52 million in redevelopment to add new anchors and boost shopper traffic. The property brochure highlights anchors including Kroger, LA Fitness, and Ross Dress for Less, and points to strong vehicle counts on West Illinois and S Zang Avenue. With that kind of momentum, the center is positioning itself as fertile ground for a neighborhood sub shop looking to tap into steady daily foot traffic.
Store Experience And Community Goals
"We really want it to be lively, energetic, and welcoming," Michael Greco told What Now Dallas. He noted that the Wynnewood location will not include a drive-thru and that his team expects plenty of face-to-face interaction with customers inside the shop. Greco said the idea for the Wynnewood store came directly from the warm reception at his first Oak Cliff location, and that he aims to build a base of regulars by getting to know nearby residents in person.
Giving And Jersey Mike’s Fundraising Record
Community giving has long been baked into the Jersey Mike’s playbook. The company’s national campaigns routinely tie store proceeds to local charities. A company release compiled by PR Newswire notes the brand’s Month of Giving and Day of Giving initiatives have raised millions of dollars for local nonprofits, often paired with free sub giveaways during special events. The planned Wynnewood charity promotion fits squarely into that model for the chain and its operators.
Greco plans to reveal the charity partner and firm up the exact grand-opening date in the coming weeks. Locals can keep an eye on the Wynnewood store’s social channels and signage around the center for updates. For now, Oak Cliff residents can look ahead to another locally run spot for fresh subs and community fundraising when Jersey Mike’s opens this spring.
