Last night at nearly midnight, a harrowing event shook the Oceanside community when a rideshare vehicle was forced through a guardrail and left dangling perilously over Canyon Creek following a hit-and-run collision. The Oceanside Police Department reported that at approximately 11:52 PM, both police and fire department teams arrived at the scene to address the aftermath. According to the Oceanside Police Department, they promptly established a perimeter to track down the suspect, who had fled on foot after the incident.
In a surprising turn of events, officers managed to bring the male suspect into custody without incident after establishing the perimeter. The man seemed to have been under the influence and was arrested on a DUI charge.
