Under this initiative, fines are cut down to what would have been the amount due had the ticket been paid on time, so instead of shouldering the burden of a hefty $613 for a speeding ticket in warrant status, which includes the initial costs and a failure to appear charge, citizens can now settle their dues for just $155—an endeavor Court Administrator Mankinta Holloway describes as a meaningful step towards a positive direction for individuals struggling with arrears from the past. "This initiative is a great opportunity for anyone looking to clear municipal tickets and start the new year on a positive note," Holloway said, emphasizing that voluntary compliance with the program will allow individuals to avoid jail time, as reported by the City of Oklahoma City.
