A recent shooting in the Gate District neighborhood resulted in one man’s death and left another critically injured. The incident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and drew an immediate response from local law enforcement.
Police responded to the 2600 block of Caroline, where two men were found with gunshot wounds. EMS pronounced 36-year-old Julius Rogers of St. Louis City dead at the scene. The second victim, a 42-year-old man, was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Authorities have not released information on a motive or any suspects in connection with the fatal shooting. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Division or submit an anonymous tip to CrimeStoppers. Tips that lead to a felony arrest may qualify for a monetary reward through CrimeStoppers. The investigation is ongoing.
