Jaxx's mother, Gabrielle Dunlap, disclosed that her son suffered "According to his family, the boy suffered severe internal damage and a spinal injury that may prevent him from walking again," which may leave him unable to walk, as told ABC 15 News.
Despite the dire predictions regarding his mobility, Jaxx's spirit remains undimmed. His mother shared her faith in his resilience, saying, "He's so strong." "If he makes it through this, we’re going to figure it out for him." With a long road to recovery ahead, which includes multiple surgeries, the family is hopeful to provide Jaxx the best life possible under the circumstances. Jaxx, known for his lively sense of humor and love for soccer, karate, and climbing trees, had his life abruptly and cruelly transformed, "He hasn’t even learned how to kick a soccer ball yet, and now he’s not going to get the chance to do that," a bereft Dunlap said in a statement obtained by ABC 15 News.
