A Portland man has been taken into custody and is facing multiple charges related to child sexual abuse and privacy crimes, following an investigation by Portland Police Bureau's Child Abuse Team and Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. Fonte T. Gladen, 26, was arrested on January 16 after detectives discovered incriminating material, including hidden camera recordings made inside private residences without consent.
The investigation revealed that Gladen allegedly utilized disguised devices, such as power adapters and external battery packs with concealed cameras, to secretly record individuals in bedrooms and bathrooms. According to Portland Police, six minors and five adults were identified as victims in these recordings. Digital devices associated with Gladen were found containing not just the covert footage, but additional child sexual abuse material, suggesting the suspect also received and distributed such content through online platforms.
Gladen is now facing a substantial list of felony charges, totalling 385 counts, including "86 counts of Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct, 93 counts of Invasion of Personal Privacy in the First Degree, 86 counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, 112 counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, and eight counts of Computer Crime." The Portland Police have issued a public safety warning, urging residents to be vigilant of unusual or inappropriate placement of electronics in private spaces such as bedrooms or bathrooms, suggesting that these could be indicators of hidden recording devices.
