A motorcyclist was killed early yesterday in a violent crash on Interstate 35W near East Belknap Street in Fort Worth, after being thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Fort Worth officers said investigators believe the rider was hit by at least one other vehicle after the initial wreck, which happened just before 2:45 a.m. The Tarrant County medical examiner will release the victim’s name once family members are notified. Southbound lanes at Pharr Street were shut down for several hours while detectives worked the scene, as reported by WFAA.
Investigation Under Way
Crash investigators typically pull nearby surveillance and traffic camera footage and track down witnesses as they reconstruct late-night wrecks on the TEXpress lanes. Southbound traffic in the area backed up while officers investigated and collected evidence. Fort Worth police said detectives are continuing to work the case and have not released additional details, per WFAA.
