Blaine's cityscape could see a new development as Magnifi Financial has applied for a conditional use permit to construct a bank on a property located at 10903 Austin Street NE. The proposed bank, if approved, would be built right up to the edge of the northern property line in what is currently a Development Flex (DF) zoning district, a move that requires a deeper level of review and community input.
The Blaine Planning Commission is set to hold a public hearing regarding this application with case number 26-0001. Residents and interested parties are encouraged to view the submitted plans online, and those with opinions on the matter can make their voices heard, as reported by the City of Blaine. The meeting is scheduled for 7 PM on Tuesday, February 10, at the Blaine City Hall Council Chambers, located at 10801 Town Square Drive, 2nd Floor.
According to the public notice released by the City of Blaine, "A public hearing is being held before the Planning Commission to accept public comments on the proposed application." This is a significant step in the process as the commission acts as an advisory body and its recommendation will heavily influence the City Council's final decision on the application.
Community members who wish to review the project's plans can find them on the city's website at BlaineMN.gov/PCItems, and the staff report will be made available at BlaineMN.gov/Agendas three days before the hearing. Those who wish to submit written comments may do so via email or mail, but must ensure their comments are received no later than Noon on Monday, February 9. It is important to note that unsigned or anonymous comments will be disregarded. If any individuals require an interpreter or another form of auxiliary assistance, they should contact Pat Robinson at the Planning Department well in advance of the meeting.
