Interdepartmental collaboration took center stage during a response to a large-scale fire incident in the Village of Palmyra, as regional fire departments united to combat the flames. In what serves as a testament to the value of collective preparedness, the Marshall Fire Department announced its engagement alongside Deerfield, Stoughton, Cottage Grove, and McFarland Fire Departments, through the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS). MABAS—a system put in place for just such emergencies—facilitates a swift, structured deployment of fire and emergency services across the state when crisis strikes.
The recent collaboration, was part of a MABAS Division 115 strike team formation. This coordinated effort features five similar resources from a county marshaled together to support ongoing operations. As the Marshall Fire Department took to social media to highlight their involvement, they underscored the seamless support provided, "no matter where the call comes from."
Membership in Division 115 means that these fire departments are always ready to extend a hand beyond their immediate jurisdiction, knowing that their collective strength is the community's gain. The Marshall Fire Department elaborated on the collective effort, stating, "Incidents like this highlight the importance of regional cooperation, training, and preparedness to ensure a strong, coordinated response."
