Residents of Salt Lake City can expect to see the sun peering through a veil of haze over the next week, according to the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service. The city, which looks to remain calm wind-wise, should see sunny skies with high temperatures fluctuating around the low 40s during the day and dipping into the mid-20s at night.
In an environment stripped of turbulent weather, the notable presence of haze has become a constant feature across the Salt Lake Valley. The National Weather Service predicts this condition to uniformly persist not only through today and tonight, which are to remain sunny and partly cloudy with highs and lows of 41 and 26 degrees, respectively, but also to significantly stretch into the better part of the upcoming week.
The forecast details a repetition of conditions with widespread haze taking center stage. For Tuesday and Wednesday, the outlook is mostly sunny with highs touching 41 and 39 degrees, respectively. Those planning on venturing out in the evenings should brace for similar weather, with Tuesday and Wednesday nights bearing partial clouds to mostly clear conditions while temperatures hover around 26 and 28 degrees.
As the week progresses, the haze refuses to lift, promising sunny days remaining consistently in the upper 30s to mid-40s and nights where the chill in the air silently commands respect, holding a steady line in the mid to upper 20s. "Widespread haze. Sunny, with a high near 39," the National Weather Service articulately notes for Thursday, with a slight increase in temperatures as the weekend draws near, with highs expected to be near 45 and 46 degrees on Friday and Saturday.
The pattern breaks ever so slightly on Friday night, with the forecast indicating haze before 11 PM, followed by a mostly clear sky. Temperatures during the night are set to drop to around 26 degrees. Saturday night and Sunday promise more of the same with clear skies and daytime highs inching up to nearly 48 degrees, thus marking a slight rise as the week concludes.
