
A massive vehicle burglary spree that rattled residents in San José has culminated in the arrest of a suspect, the San José Police Department (SJPD) announced. Over the course of two days, November 8 and 9, 2025, a total of 114 vehicle burglary reports were filed at four multi-family housing complexes. The complexes targeted by the suspect were located on Crest Village Circle, Iron Point Drive, Casa Verde Street, and Baypointe Parkway.
Already under detention for unrelated crimes, Ramses Hernandez Rivera has been identified as the alleged serial burglar. The SJPD's investigation was led by their Burglary Unit detectives, who secured an arrest warrant, as well as a search warrant for his residence in Gilroy. According to the San José Police Department, evidence pertaining to the burglaries was uncovered during the search on Wednesday.
Multiple counts of vehicle burglary have been charged against Suspect Hernandez Rivera by the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office, as acknowledged by SJPD.
