Chaos disrupted the new year's calm in San Mateo when a two-vehicle crash resulted in felony DUI charges on Thursday. According to a social media post by the San Mateo Police Department, first responders arrived at approximately 9:27 PM at the intersection of La Selva Street and Casa de Campo Drive, where they encountered Juan Solisxar, a 26-year-old San Mateo resident involved in the incident.

Officers who contacted Solisxar observed signs that he was potentially driving under the influence, after he exhibited symptoms consistent with alcohol consumption, they administered field sobriety tests; this led to his arrest for driving while intoxicated, ultimately causing injury to another who was then treated on site and later released.

Following the procedure, Solisxar now faces serious legal repercussions with the felony DUI charge, specifically, 23153 (A) VC-DUI (alcohol) causing bodily injury, which could potentially lead to hefty fines and possible jail time.
