South Florida residents are waking up to a distinctly chilly morning as temperatures dip into the mid-40s, a stark contrast to Thursday's warmer climate. The crisper air is accompanied by a brisk northern breeze, which could push real-feel temperatures down to the low-30s in some areas, signaling a brief cold weather advisory for those outside, according to a report from NBC Miami.
Frigid mornings in this region are not just uncomfortable, they can be bizarre spectacles, as the cold-blooded iguanas lose their grip in the trees and tumble to the ground. The cold snap is expected to be temporary though, "Our cold weather advisory will lift later Friday morning," NBC Miami notes. But even with sunny skies forecasted for the afternoon, high temperatures may scarcely crest 70 degrees.
Moving into the weekend, the weather is predicted to temper slightly, with a "slight chance of showers" and warmer conditions ahead, as reported by the National Weather Service. Saturday should welcome highs around 74 degrees, with a modest 20 percent probability of rain.
The National Championship game on Monday is set to take place under these cooler climes as well, with NBC Miami anticipating kickoff temperatures in the mid-60s, potentially cooling further to the 50s by the game's end. "We stay sunny and warm up this weekend but yet another front (not as strong) hits and gives us a "cool" National Championship game," the report confirms.
Looking ahead into the week, residents can expect a return to more temperate weather, with highs hovering around the mid-70s. However, there's a looming possibility of showers with a 20 to 30 percent chance of precipitation from Wednesday night through Thursday, all this according to the National Weather Service's detailed forecast, suggesting a mix of clouds and sun to accompany any potential showers.
