A new semester has officially kicked off for the Introduction to Criminal Justice Course, and students are off to a strong start. Over the past two weeks, Sheriff Champagne visited the class to share his career path and provide insight into the criminal justice system, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office's Facebook post.

Students have since hit the ground running with Captain Darren Gros instructing on constitutional law. They learned about the 4th Amendment and applied the reasonable objectiveness standard while reviewing body camera footage, as reported by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office.

In addition, students have enjoyed participating in training scenarios through virtual reality. Juniors and seniors attending HHS or DHS who are interested in taking the Introduction to Criminal Justice Course should contact their school counselor for scheduling.
