It's a cheesy delight as St. Louis County embraces National Pizza Week, giving a nod to local favorites and freezer aisle conveniences. In what could be dubbed as a celebration of gooey goodness, residents are encouraged to support local pizza joints, albeit in a slightly unconventional way. Social media buzz from the St. Louis County suggests you don’t have to dine out to join the festivities; rather, you can grab a slice of St. Louis straight from your nearest grocery store’s freezer section.
During Pizza Week in St. Louis, Schnucks and Dierbergs supermarkets are offering a selection of local St. Louis-style frozen pizzas. Available at both chains are Dogtown, Imo’s, and 3Gerard’s, while Katie’s Pizza & Pasta, 4 Hands, and Lucia’s are exclusive to Dierbergs.
The initiative provides a convenient way for customers to enjoy local pizza at home while supporting St. Louis restaurants. Although it doesn’t replace dining in at the restaurants, the frozen pizzas offer a taste of the city’s pizza culture.
