The St. Louis County Police Department has recently marked a new chapter in its history with the promotion of three seasoned officers to the rank of sergeant. As detailed in an announcement made by Colonel Kenneth L. Gregory, the department is bolstering its leadership ranks with individuals who have dedicated years to law enforcement and public service. This development was first reported on the department's official news page.
Sergeant David Mauzy, a member of a department since 2011, is bringing his wealth of experience from various assignments to his new role in the Homicide, Robbery, Sexual Assault Unit. His career has spanned multiple precincts, including South County, Wildwood, and Affton Southwest, and included time with the Special Response Unit. Mauzy’s previous stints stand as a testament to his versatility and commitment to addressing serious crimes within the community.
Also ascending the ranks is Sergeant Carson MacInnis, who has been with the department since 2013. His career trajectory has seen him serve in the West County and North County Precincts, and now finds him in the Bureau of Drug Enforcement. MacInnis's promotion positions him at the forefront of the ongoing battle against controlled substance-related crime and its pervasive impact on the streets of St. Louis County.
Completing the trio of promotions is Sergeant Matthew Geisman, who's breadth of knowledge is augmented by a master’s degree in management and leadership from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree in secondary math from the University of Dayton. Since joining the department in 2015, Geisman has served in various precincts and, like Mauzy, is currently attached to the Homicide, Robbery, and Sexual Assault Unit, where his academic background no doubt complements his policing skills.
Representatives of the media seeking additional details on these appointments can reach out to Ms. Vera Clay, Ms. Mary Schmitt, or Mr. Brian McClelland, as listed in the department's press release.
