The City of St. Louis has introduced a new initiative to reduce youth violence by expanding job opportunities and training. The Department of Public Safety and the Office of Violence Prevention announced the Prop P Youth Jobs 2026–2027 Request for Proposals (RFP), which invites nonprofits to develop programs supporting employment and personal development for high-risk individuals aged 15 to 24.
The City of St. Louis Office of Violence Prevention shared on a social media post that applications for the RFP opened January 23, and will remain available until the end of the month, giving nonprofits a limited time to submit youth-focused job training proposals.
Programs are expected to include job training, career readiness, financial literacy, mentoring, and other supportive services to help young people succeed, with more information and application details available online.
