A statement on their official Facebook page read, "Today, on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we pause to say thank you to the men and women who serve St. Louis with integrity, courage, and compassion. We see you, we thank you, and we appreciate you today and every day."
The acknowledgment came on a day set to honor law enforcement and highlights the responsibilities officers face in their work. Public acknowledgment of law enforcement occurs regularly, including on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
