Temperatures are expected to drop on Wednesday, reaching around 33 degrees by late afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Northwest winds will range from 10 to 17 mph, with gusts up to 28 mph. On Thursday, skies will be mostly sunny, with highs near 34 degrees.
As the weekend approaches, there is a 20 percent chance of snow Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service. Friday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 44. Friday night will be mostly clear, with a slight chance of rain and snow before midnight and lows around 22 degrees.
Saturday will be partly sunny with a high near 32, followed by a low around 12 Saturday night. Sunday will remain cold. On Martin Luther King Day, skies are expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 34 degrees.
The NWS has also issued an elevated fire danger notice for parts of Missouri due to low humidity, gusty winds, and dry vegetation. Spotter activation is not expected.
