The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested Raishad Batiste following a Dec. 28, 2025 traffic stop in LaPlace. The incident led to a crash that injured an SJSO deputy, who suffered a non-life-threatening leg injury, according to the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office's Facebook post.
Batiste was located and arrested in Metairie around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Authorities spotted him at an apartment complex on Manson Avenue, as reported by the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office.
The arrest was made without incident after St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office’s SWAT unit conducted a traffic stop with help from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations. Batiste faces a felony charge of aggravated flight from an officer by vehicle, along with additional traffic violations.
