The Tampa Convention Center is looking to significantly boost the local economy with over 101 events scheduled for 2026. According to a recent article from the City of Tampa, the center is projecting an economic impact of approximately $149 million, up from last year's estimate of $147 million. The anticipated attendee count for this year also shows an upward trend, with 326,290 expected compared to 284,954 in 2025. Starting the year off, the Gasparilla Pirate Fest Invasion Brunch Experience, a staple of Tampa tradition, will be open to the public on January 31, giving visitors a unique view of the event paired with food and hospitality.
2025 proved to be a celebrated year for the convention center, which garnered seven industry awards, underscoring its commitment to service excellence and venue quality. As detailed by the City of Tampa's article, included in these awards were the Stella Awards' Gold Medal for Best Convention Center for the third year in a row, the "Best of the Best Convention Center" designation from ConventionSouth Media Group, and the Smart Meetings Smart Stars Award. This string of accolades has worked to solidify Tampa's reputation as a top-tier convention destination in the Southern United States.
Further enhancing the convention experience, the Tampa Convention Center will continue to bring in new features for visitors and event planners alike. Following last year's debut of a dynamic art installation, two additional public art pieces are set to premiere in 2026. More information about the venue and its upcoming events can be found by visiting the City of Tampa's official website.
