A devastating fire claimed the lives of three individuals in Spring Grove Village, Cincinnati, as flames engulfed a home on North Edgewood Avenue yesterday evening. According to FOX19, the Cincinnati Fire Department received reports of the fire around 7 p.m., with concerns that individuals were still trapped inside the residence.
District Fire Chief Nathaniel Cash explained that upon arrival, crews encountered a blaze that had swiftly taken over the first floor and was spreading to the second floor. Firefighters, executing a daring entrance through a second-floor window, extracted one victim who was later pronounced dead at the hospital. In addition to the one victim found on the second floor, two more individuals lost their lives on the first floor amidst fire conditions that, according to Local 12, left that space not survivable by the time help arrived.
As WLWT reports, the operation tasked 70 firefighters with combating the intense flames. Despite the rapid response and aggressive action taken by the first responders, the inferno exacted a tragic toll before it was extinguished, lasting approximately an hour and a half to be brought under control.
