A late-night confrontation in Central Phoenix took a tragic turn when a dispute between siblings resulted in one brother's death. Phoenix Police Department received a call on Jan. 11 just before midnight regarding a stabbing at Cambridge Place apartments, located in the vicinity of 17th Street and Cambridge Avenue, according to a report by azfamily.com.
The argument, which escalated fatally between Ali-Ondre Hampton, 24, and his brother, Timotheus Keshon Hampton, 30, left Timotheus with stab wounds. Found by the officers near 17th Place and Cambridge Avenue at approximately 11:46 p.m., he was promptly taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Following a detainment at the scene, Ali-Ondre was taken to police headquarters for questioning and was thereafter booked into jail on murder charges, Phoenix police revealed, without releasing additional details on what precipitated the deadly altercation.
"Preliminary information suggests the brothers were in an altercation when the stabbing occurred," Sgt. Loraine Fernandez was quoted as saying in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix. The ongoing nature of the police investigation has led to a sparing release of information, leaving the community grasping for answers as to what could drive such a drastic and irreversible outcome within a family.
