A shooting in the West End neighborhood yesterday resulted in the deaths of two men. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred inside an apartment on the 1000 block of Hamilton, where officers found a man in his 30s with fatal gunshot wounds.
The response escalated when police discovered a second victim, a man in his 40s, shot and lying in a nearby field; he was taken to a local hospital but later died from his injuries. Investigators reported that the two deceased men were brothers involved in a dispute that escalated to gunfire. During the confrontation, a woman in her 40s, who was also inside the apartment, reportedly fired at the older brother.
The woman involved in the shooting has been taken into custody and is cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation. Police have indicated that they are not seeking any additional suspects, suggesting the incident was confined to individuals with close personal connections.
The department is asking the public for additional information to help reconstruct the events leading up to the shooting as investigators continue compiling a detailed account of the incident.
