Local efforts to beautify Wake Forest have recently received a spark thanks to the civic-mindedness of one resident, Michelle Wilkinson. According to the Town of Wake Forest's social media page, Wilkinson took the initiative to clean up litter strewn about the junction of Jones Dairy Road and Jones Farm Road. The town officials lauded her efforts with a simple but affirming message: "Great job!"
It appears the sense of community responsibility is silently intensifying, as evidenced by Wilkinson's volunteerism. Not only has she taken on the task to directly improve the community's environment, but her actions also serve to subtly inspire others to possibly take similar strides. Those interested in joining the cause can find resources easily accessible online. The Town of Wake Forest offers "Litter Kits," sponsored by Lightbridge Academy, with details readily available at www.wakeforestnc.gov/keep-wf-clean for citizens inclined to actively participate in Roadside Cleanups.
Environmental stewardship efforts are gaining support in Wake Forest, with the town’s hashtag #KeepWFclean being shared within the community. Lightbridge Academy sponsored the cleanup initiative, highlighting local business involvement in supporting community and environmental efforts.
Town officials noted the cleanup and encouraged residents to take part in similar activities to help maintain Wake Forest’s public spaces.
