A Wareham man has found himself on the wrong side of the law after a major narcotics bust that took place earlier this week, leading to charges centered around cocaine trafficking and possession with intent to distribute. The Wareham Police Department provided details through a social media post reporting on the results of an investigation that culminated in the arrest of 53-year-old Charles Lehr.
During a coordinated effort last Friday, the Wareham Police Criminal Investigation Division and members of the Patrol Division carried out search warrants on Lehr’s vehicle and residence. The results of the searches were significant, leading to the seizure of large amounts of suspected cocaine along with various forms of drug paraphernalia. This evidence laid the groundwork for the narcotics charges Lehr now faces. He was arraigned at the Wareham Fourth District Court.
In a display of communal protection, Police Chief Walter Correia Jr. expressed a measurable satisfaction with the teamwork presented by his officers. According to the Wareham Police post, Chief Correia stated, "Chief Walter Correia Jr. applauded the collaborative effort between Criminal Investigation Division and the Patrol Division for taking potential lethal drugs off the streets of Wareham, MA."
