Residents of Webster Groves are being encouraged to help enhance community safety by taking part in a walking safety audit scheduled for this spring. Organized by WG Safe Streets with support from city staff and local residents, the audit will assess street design with a focus on pedestrian safety, accessibility, and comfort. According to a social media post from the City of Webster Groves, participants will engage in a hands-on evaluation to identify barriers and opportunities for improvements, such as adding sidewalks, installing crosswalks, or upgrading street lighting.
The walking safety audits will focus on two areas: one in a neighborhood south of Interstate 44 and another north of Kirkham Avenue. While exact dates and routes have not yet been finalized, the city is seeking resident participation and feedback.
Those interested in joining are encouraged to email [email protected].
