
A tragic discovery unfolded last week when a woman and her dog were found dead in a van submerged in the Cumberland River. According to WSMV, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that the bodies were found Friday morning after a boater observed the van entering the water near Lock B Road South.
The Montgomery County Fire Department, along with other emergency response crews, was dispatched to the scene around 7:30 a.m. After prolonged efforts, the vehicle was eventually recovered from the river. The deceased were identified inside the van; their identities were initially unknown at the time of the rescue.
Further developments, as reported by FOX17, revealed that the woman has since been identified as 33-year-old Amber Nall. Montgomery County officials have notified her family and are currently treating the incident as an unattended death.
The process that led to the identification of the victim was detailed by MCSO Lt. Bishop Delaney, who told Clarksville Now, "Divers recovered the body of 33-year-old Amber Nall." Despite identifying the victim, extensive investigations continue to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
