Yesterday morning, a woman in DeKalb County was hospitalized following a stabbing incident at a residence on Atherton Circle. The DeKalb County Police Department received a call around 2:25 a.m. concerning the altercation. Upon arrival, the responding officers discovered the woman who had sustained moderate injuries, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
While details regarding the suspect or the precise events leading up to the stabbing remain undisclosed, police confirmed that a person was detained at the scene. According to a statement obtained by Atlanta News First, neighbor William Keels expressed shock over the situation, saying, "It happened in the middle of the night, and we don’t know anything about it," adding, "this is such a quiet neighborhood that I cannot imagine anything like a stabbing going on to anybody."
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to piece together the circumstances of the crime. DeKalb Police have yet to provide a comprehensive account of the incident, but it is expected that more information will be shared as the case progresses. A section of Atherton Circle was cordoned off, and the home’s open front door became a focal point for activity during the morning hours. An ambulance was also witnessed departing the cordoned-off area during the arrival of news crews.
