The City of Yukon announced updates to its holiday schedule, stating that city offices closed at noon Wednesday and will remain closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the New Year’s holiday. Recreation centers remained open with regular hours on Wednesday, according to a social media post from the City of Yukon, Oklahoma – Government.
The closure will not affect all services. The city said routine trash pickup will continue on Wednesday, while Thursday collections will be moved to Friday. Regular Friday pickups will proceed as scheduled.
Destinations like the Mabel C. Fry Public Library will also take a brief hiatus, closing their doors through Saturday. Similarly, the Transfer Station and Recycle Center will not be operational during this holiday period, but will reopen on Saturday at 10 a.m.
The Yukon Community Center, Jackie Cooper Gym, and Dale Robertson Center will remain closed through Sunday and will reopen during normal hours thereafter. The Yukon Animal Control Facility will also be closed during this period as part of the city’s New Year holiday schedule.
