A homegrown talent, Darthard graduated from Del City High School before taking her cheerleading skills to Langston University on a scholarship. At her alma mater, she double-majored, earning a B.S. in Corrections, and a B.A. in Sociology. With determination fueling her academic strides, she went on to secure an M.A. in Urban Affairs from Norfolk State University.
