A 20-year-old man in Philadelphia's Frankford neighborhood was shot and killed while driving his Honda Accord, 6abc reported. The incident occurred on Monday night just before 10 p.m. along the 1600 block of Brill Street. The fatal shooting, which took place just before 10 p.m., was partly captured on video showing two men approaching the vehicle, one of whom fired two gunshots through the passenger-side door window, as "Chief Inspector Scott Small" detailed in a statement obtained by CBS News Philadelphia. Following the shooting, the victim's vehicle continued to roll forward, ultimately halting upon colliding with a snowbank. Emergency responders transported the victim to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at 10:32 p.m., NBC Philadelphia reported.
Authorities have yet to release information on a motive for the shooting, and the suspects remain at large. The perpetrators were last seen fleeing westbound on Brill Street. They were described as wearing all dark clothing. On the scene, police recovered two spent shell casings. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS.
Earlier that same day, another shooting occurred in the city's Wissinoming neighborhood at a storage unit, resulting in a man being wounded, according to Philadelphia police, while the fatal incident remains under investigation.
