A senior dog with no tags or microchip found itself in a heartwarming twist of fate after being discovered in freezing temperatures in Oakland County. The Milford Police Department has adopted the nine-year-old dog, now named "Lil' Craig," who was initially found on February 1st, enduring below-zero conditions on a random porch. ClickOnDetroit reported the senior canine was taken in by officers who recognized its need for warmth and shelter amidst a bitterly cold night.
Despite efforts to find Lil' Craig’s owner, including posts on social media, there were no claims to the dog. Eventually, the Milford Police Department decided to officially take him into the fold rather than "leaving his future to chance," as per the Milford Police Department's Facebook page. The department expressed their growing affection for Lil' Craig, stating his presence is "already bringing smiles and some needed stress relief to our staff."
While Lil' Craig is showing signs of age, missing a few teeth and one of his ears not standing upright, the Milford Police Department is committed to providing a loving and comfortable home for their new companion. After undergoing some medical procedures, he is reportedly recovering well and adapting to his new environment. "He's a little slow paced, loves to be around people, and is actually quite a ham," the Milford Police Department shared on Facebook.
