An Atlanta teenager is now facing multiple charges after police say he shot a family member's boyfriend during a dispute, a troubling incident transpiring on a quiet evening in the city's southwest side.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the 17-year-old, Kez Crenshaw, was arrested at the 200 block of Peyton Place SW around 6:15 p.m. last Saturday, where officers found the victim bearing a gunshot wound in his chest and despite the urgency of the situation he remained alert, conscious, and capable of breathing when transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The incident reportedly began when the victim arrived at the residence demanding to speak with his girlfriend; however, she expressed a clear unwillingness to engage in conversation, as stated by the police.
When the victim persisted and refused to leave the scene, it escalated to the point of violence. "The victim was then asked to leave the location, and he was subsequently shot by one of his girlfriend's family members," as reported by 11Alive, leading to Crenshaw's arrest and charges that include aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person under the age of 18.
The ongoing investigation has yet to confirm whether the firearm used in the shooting was recovered by the police, Crenshaw has been booked into the Fulton County Jail awaiting further legal proceedings.
