In a late-night incident at a Braintree industrial location, a stabbing left one man injured and another in custody. The Braintree Police Department responded to a distressing call last night, originating from Wollaston Alloys at 205 Wood Road. The call, which was received at approximately 11:23 p.m., reported a stabbing involving co-workers.

Arriving at the chaotic scene, officers were met with the sight of Jorge Monteiro, a victim from Taunton, frantic with his head, face, and hands smeared with blood, rushing toward them for help. The nearby crowd, collected in the area's parking lot directed law enforcement to the suspect, Jose Martins of Brockton, who was found leaning against a vehicle, and he was arrested without further incident, as reported by the Braintree Police Department.

Monteiro was provided medical aid by the responding officers and later transported to a local hospital by Brewster Ambulance for further treatment. The severity of Monteiro's injuries prompted charges against Martins that include Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, namely a knife, and Assault and Battery with Serious Bodily Injury.

A follow-up Facebook post from the Braintree Police Department said that after Martins was arrested, another person in the crowd handed over the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing. Police took the knife as evidence. Martins is currently being booked at the Braintree Police Department.
