The call came in around 2:30 a.m., when multiple callers reported gunfire in the area. What police say
LaGrange police identified the victim as Levaro Tiller and said he had been shot in the body before being taken to a hospital for treatment, according to Atlanta News First. The outlet reports officers were sent to the 400 block of East Bacon Street after calls about shots fired came in around 2:30 a.m. Police told the station that Tiller would not tell officers who shot him or what triggered the confrontation.
Injury and response
WTVM reports the man was 41 years old and was airlifted to a trauma center for further treatment after officers found him at the scene. The station also notes that several callers reported hearing gunfire before police arrived.
Recent violence in the city
The shooting is the latest in a run of violent incidents in LaGrange this month. On Feb. 3, a man was fatally shot at Tall Pines Apartments and a 16-year-old was later arrested in that case, according to Atlanta News First.
