Two individuals are now ensnared by the law for their roles in a homicide that rattled the West Side of Cincinnati. Police arrested Terrell Bailey, 43, on accusations of murder and tampering with evidence, and Shanice Shade, 44, for tampering with evidence and obstructing justice, after 37-year-old Christopher Tanner was fatally stabbed last month at an apartment complex on Nandale Drive in Colerain Township, Local 12 reported.
On the day of Tanner's death, emergency services, who were quickly arriving on the scene, found him with multiple stab wounds. He later succumbed to his injuries at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Court papers claim that Shade, having removed the knife used in the stabbing, made efforts to conceal the weapon from arriving officers and lied to them about its existence, according to Local 12.
This isn't the first time Shade's name has been linked to criminal cases involving homicide. Court records show that Shade, with a birth date of December 8, 1981, has faced previous charges connected to murders dating back to 2010. She has been accused of providing false information that hindered the prosecution of a convicted murderer, and she has served time for involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence in a separate case, FOX19 reports. Officials, however, have not confirmed if the Shanice Shade in all these instances is one and the same person.
Currently housed at the Hamilton County Justice Center, both Bailey and Shade are expecting that an arraignment at 9 a.m. the following morning will follow suit. The charges against Shade allege she "removed the knife from the scene of the stabbing and discarded it in the parking lot to hide from police," as stated in court documents obtained by Cincinnati.com. These charges paint a grim repetition of a narrative that has spanned over a decade, punctuating Shade's life with the ink of the criminal justice system.
