
A normally quiet Creve Coeur neighborhood was disrupted Saturday morning when a man allegedly brandished a gun inside a home, prompting a large police response and a temporary street lockdown.
Creve Coeur police responded around 7:42 a.m. to the 12900 block of Ferntop for a reported disturbance. All occupants safely exited the home, and the man, who initially refused to leave, eventually complied and was taken into custody. Police reported no injuries.
What police say
According to First Alert 4, an officer found a person who had fled the home near the intersection of Ferngate and Ferntop. The individual told police they left after a man inside the residence brandished a gun and threatened two people. Creve Coeur officers secured the scene, restricted traffic, and managed the block while addressing the situation with the suspect.
Police response and charges
First Alert 4 reports that the man was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest. Officials told the outlet, “The man is in custody, and his charges are being referred to the St. Louis County Prosecutor's Office for consideration.”
