Nearly five months after a deadly double shooting rattled a southeast Atlanta block, the woman authorities had been searching for is now behind bars.
Tomea Wycobia Collins, 33, of Decatur, turned herself in to Fulton County Jail officials on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, in connection with the Sept. 19 attack that left one person dead and another seriously injured. She is facing charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. Fulton County Sheriff's Office staff and Atlanta Police Department officials provided details of the surrender to local media.
The charges trace back to a shooting on Sept. 19, 2025, in the 200 block of Grant Street SE. Officers responding to a call about a person shot found a 33-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman with gunshot wounds, according to a preliminary statement from the Atlanta Police Department. The man later died at a hospital, and investigators said the gunfire may have stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Police have not released an update on the surviving woman's condition, and authorities have not confirmed whether the firearm used in the shooting has been recovered, as FOX 5 Atlanta reports. Officials have also not said what prompted Collins to surrender nearly five months after the incident.

Collins was booked into the Fulton County Jail and now faces a slate of felony charges that will move through the county court system.
