As police arrived, drivers fled in a panic, deserting one car at the scene, and in a twist of unforeseen accountability, 21-year-old Adrian Peralta, the alleged owner of the abandoned vehicle, returned to surrender to the authorities.

In the parking lot of North Hills Shopping Center, a separate stunt-driving-related crash left a light pole struck by an abandoned car, this detail by 11Alive adds another layer to the unfolding of the day's reckless escapades.
Later a young man, only 18, came forth admitting his involvement in the crash officers on the scene cited him for laying drag and reckless driving before he was released into his family's custody.
