A 19-year-old woman was fatally shot on Kings Highway in Douglasville, leading to an arrest by local authorities. FOX 5 Atlanta reports the Douglas County deputies discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds near the intersection of Kings Highway and Central Church at approximately 1:30 p.m. last Saturday.
Details about the incident remain sparse, and the identity of the woman has not been released to the public. The sheriff’s office confirmed on Sunday that someone has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting, and more information is expected to be forthcoming. An Original Vape employee, Kevin Smith, recalled hearing “tap, tap, tap — like seven consistent shots” before witnessing an SUV speeding away from the scene, which he later described in an interview with Atlanta News First.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office retrieved surveillance footage from the Original Vape store, which is near where the incident occurred. Although the arrest has been made by law enforcement, details regarding the suspect are still under wraps, leading to speculation and concern within the local community.
