A fatal shooting inside a Manchester apartment turned Elm Street into a crime scene Monday afternoon, leaving a 29-year-old man dead and a 21-year-old facing serious charges.
Police say officers were called to an Elm Street building around 3:42 p.m. after a 911 call and found a man who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to NBC10 Boston. The victim was later identified as 29-year-old Kade Harrower of Manchester.
On Tuesday, Manchester police arrested Adrian David Garcia Bonilla, 21, also of Manchester, and charged him with manslaughter and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, NBC10 Boston reports.
Charges And Investigation
The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office and Manchester police confirmed Harrower as the victim, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide caused by a single gunshot wound to the chest, according to WMUR.
Officials have not released any suspected motive in the shooting. They say the case remains under active investigation by Manchester police and the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office, which are still working to piece together what led up to the deadly encounter.
What The Charges Mean
Garcia Bonilla faces a manslaughter charge as well as a felony reckless conduct charge. Under New Hampshire law, manslaughter covers deaths caused recklessly or in the heat of extreme provocation and can carry penalties of up to 30 years in prison under RSA 630:2, according to Justia. Reckless conduct with a deadly weapon is a class B felony under RSA 631:3, Justia notes.
The charges are allegations, and Garcia Bonilla is presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty in court.
