The Florissant Valley Fire Protection District is accepting applications for firefighter/paramedic positions, inviting qualified candidates to apply. The department shared the announcement on a Facebook post, outlining the job requirements and application process for those interested in joining the agency.
Applicants must hold Firefighter I and II certifications from the St. Louis County Fire Standards Commission or be enrolled in the St. Louis County Fire Academy’s January 2026 class, and must also be licensed paramedics in Missouri. Candidates are required to submit a completed application, a valid Missouri driver’s license, a police background check, and a driving record, and must be at least 21 years old at the time a job offer is made.
In addition to Firefighter I and II and paramedic certification, applicants must hold Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certifications, which the department says are essential for providing effective emergency care.
Applications for the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District can be submitted online through the department’s portal or picked up in person at the Administration Office, 661 St. Ferdinand Street, Florissant, MO, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with all submissions due by 3 p.m. on February 20.
